Blue Mountain Gum Trees and the Blue Mountains

Introduction:

Over the weekend, I took an adventure into the Blue Mountains National Park for some hiking and visiting Scenic World, one of the tourist attractions in the national park. I had the opportunity to see my first ever waterfall and a surprise to see a dinosaur experience with animatorics in the temperate rainforest of the region.

What does this creature or plant look like?:

The Blue Mountain gum trees have very smooth and pale bark compared to trees like oak and pine trees that are commonly found throughout the United States. Blue Mountain gum trees grow in a pretty straight line upwards rather than growing outwards, making them very skinny. Blue Mountain gum trees can grow very tall up to 65 meters or over 200 feet tall if left to fully grow.

How did I feel when I saw it?:

When I first saw these trees in their natural forest at the national park, I was shocked to see how tall they were in comparison to other plants in the forest. For the most part every extremely tall tree I saw was a Blue Mountain gum tree. It was quite nice to have these trees, which provided a lot of shade under their canopies from the sun and the heat. When grouped together, they are very beautiful and provide an environment for the creatures and plants below.
