I'm currently wrapping up my fall semester abroad, and I can't believe how quickly time has passed! It honestly feels unreal that I’m about to return home. I’m excited to go back and be with my family, but at the same time, it’s hard to leave behind the life I’ve built here over the past four months.

Living here for this time has been truly amazing. What once felt unfamiliar, slowly became normal and, eventually, began to feel like home. Every place I traveled to during this journey holds a special place in my heart, filled with memories, lessons and moments I will always cherish.

I chose to study in Florence because I wanted to be fully immersed into a culture I had always admired and wanted to learn even more about it. When I arrived, I didn’t speak any Italian. Everything felt overwhelming at first! Through everyday interactions, classes and conversations, I slowly began to learn the language. Now, I can hold a basic conversation--something that once felt impossible, but now feels incredibly rewarding!

Traveling throughout Europe was one of the most amazing parts of this experience, too.
