Traveler Bio

Sain uu? (Hello)! My name is Kristen. Growing up near Chicago, a city full of so many cultures, inspired me to go out, explore, and learn about new cultures, which sparked my love for traveling. I deeply believe in the power of service to create positive change and personal growth, values that led me to join the Peace Corps.

Right now, I’m living in Mongolia, where I teach English and work on projects that help local communities grow their economies. I love meeting new people and learning about their culture, and I’m really excited to share my adventures here in Mongolia with you all!

I grew up outside of Chicago and developed a love for travel and learning about different cultures. This passion inspired me to join the Peace Corps. Now, I serve as a volunteer in Mongolia. In my job here, I teach English to middle school/high school students and lead several clubs at my school. I enjoy helping students practice English and encouraging them to learn new things. Outside of the classroom, I work with different NGOs and community groups on a variety of projects. My work in the community allows me to support local development and connect with people from many backgrounds.

Sharing culture is very important to me. I believe that learning from each other helps create a stronger and more understanding community. Living in Mongolia gives me the chance to share American culture while learning about Mongolian traditions and daily life. I enjoy connecting with others and using these experiences to build respect and friendship between cultures.

Peace Corps Volunteers like me live and work side by side with community members around the world, collaborating on locally prioritized projects, building relationships, exchanging cultures and knowledge, and helping transform lives for generations. Learn more by clicking here.
