Hi there! My name is Kristina Echols, but you can call me Kristy. I currently live in Atlanta, Georgia, but I am from Chicago, Illinois. I am 22 years old, and I will turn 23 on April 1st (yes, my birthday is on April Fool’s Day). Growing up, I loved to dance (I have been dancing since I was 3), spending time with my friends, and enjoying the amazing food and museums Chicago has to offer.
For college, I moved to Atlanta to study sociology and dance at Spelman College, a Historically Black College (HBCU). Throughout college, I volunteered and worked at multiple schools. After graduation, I worked as a professional dancer, performing with agencies, artists and athletic teams throughout the country.
Most recently, I applied for and was fortunate to receive a U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistant scholarship in Malaysia. I hope to use this extraordinary opportunity to grow as a global citizen and spread love throughout the world. I also want to see what diversity looks like in another country and promote inclusivity.
I am excited to share my adventures in Malaysia with you all! Let's go!
