I traveled about 172km or 106.8 miles this week to visit a friend. It took about 3 hours to travel by bus. Also, it is about 10km or 6.2 miles to work.
I have traveled many places in and out of the country. I have been to the big towns such as Kasane, Maun and Gaborone in Botswana, and many other villages of fellow Peace Corps volunteers like Shakawe, Phikwe, Sefhare and Ramotswa. Out of the country, I have visited Victoria Falls, Cape Town and Johannesburg. In total, I have probabably traveled around 25,000 km or 15,534 miles, not to mention the 9,000 miles I flew to get here!
For work, I always use the local taxis. To travel to other villages, I used combis (16 seater vans) and coach buses.
I was able to visit my friend in the nearby town in Selebi-Phikwe. We had a lovely evening making homemade pizza and catching up. In the morning, we made pacakes and omelettes.
