What activity was the most fun this week?:

I had the most fun on the Kamakura day trip and later at the Kita-ku fireworks festival.

I got the idea to plan a day-trip to Kamakura because a few of my new international friends mentioned they enjoyed going to temples and shrines to fill their goshuinchou, "red seal books" designed to collect the unique stamp mark of each temple or shrine as a keepsake. So that day we explored Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine, Hokokuji Temple, Hasedera Temple, Kotoku-in Temple and the local Komachi-dori shopping street.

I heard about the Kita-ku fireworks festival on Facebook as a free local event. I decided to go with a friend, and we were entertained by a 30 minute firework show accompanied by music! It was very crowded, and the air was made especially hot by the food truck vendors nearby. For such events, bringing a picnic mat and a personal fan is necessary.

What did I read this week?:

I read a lot of paperwork.
