I had to thoroughly read manuals provided by Waseda University to learn how to register for classes, several class syllabi, and Tokyo travel guide blogs to find the best places to visit and to learn where to buy basic shopping necessities.
I signed up for the "W-mentor Progam", a Waseda University student group that helps introduce new international students to Japanese student-mentors. At the first gathering, the mentors planned a scavenger hunt where the students split up into smaller groups to find and learn about the campus and different facilities.
I didn't play any sports, but I watched the 2019 Grand Sumo Tournament matches on Japanese TV.
