While Kiwis are big on desserts - for example, marshmallows, chocolate, and Tim Tams - the next time I go out to eat, I want to experience food that is special to the traditional Māori culture in New Zealand. Perhaps I will seek out the experience of Hāngi, a traditional New Zealand Māori method of cooking using heated rocks buried in a pit oven underground. This would definitely be something new and different that is unique to New Zealand.
