Kia Ora and hello! My name is Lauren Liao, and I am so excited for you to follow my journey in New Zealand.
I am currently in my senior (fourth) year of studies on an exchange program at Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand. Back in the United States, I go to school at the University of California, San Diego. I study mathematics, specializing in probability and statistics and cognitive science.
Coming from San Diego where it is sunny more often than not, I’m adapting to the ever-changing weather in New Zealand as well as the infamous Wellington wind. Wellington is the windiest city in the world! It is a vibrant capital, where you can find a mix of cultures. Since I was young, I was always fascinated by New Zealand, which is also called Aotearoa (The land of the long white cloud). It was a literal dream come true finally stepping foot in the country and seeing its beauty from both the natural scenery and friendliness in people.
I can’t wait to share my adventures with you and hope you will be inspired to travel someday as well!
