My name is Lauren, and I’m super excited to be living in Taiwan teaching English! Before moving to Taiwan, I taught history and English at a high school in New Hampshire; I also coached basketball and track and field! I love engaging with students, so I cannot wait to meet you all and hear about your lives in the United States.
This is my first time in Taiwan – you can find it between Japan and the Philippines on a map (look for the island next to China!) – and I’m from the Northeast, so the weather is going to be very different. I'm going to miss the snowy New Hampshire winters, but I’m also really thrilled to explore this new country.
One of the things I’m most excited about is trying all the yummy food in Taiwan. Did you know bubble tea was created in Taiwan? Taiwan also has lots of amazing places to visit and beautiful trails to hike. I’ll get to see cool museums and learn all about the history and culture of this country. I studied history in college, so I can't wait!
Even though I'll miss my home and family, I'm looking forward to learning new things and having lots of exciting experiences. I can't wait to share all my adventures with you, and I hope you'll come along on this journey with me!
