Though it is the final time I will write to you all through Reach The World, this is just the middle of my time here in Taiwan. Somehow, I feel like I have both just arrived in Taiwan and also have lived here forever. My roommate, Charles, will sometimes lean over unprompted to me and say, "We live in Taiwan." Even though I find it a little annoying, I think it does help put things into perspective. It is still absolutely wild to me that I have the privilege of getting to live in another country, particularly one as interesting and diverse as Taiwan.

One of the joys of traveling and living abroad is it shows you that, despite our differences, we are all more connected than we thought. While you may go to a place where everyone looks and talks differently from you, you soon realize that most of us just want the same things. We want happiness, connection and new experiences. Even when I can't easily communicate with others (since my Chinese isn't particularly good), I can still see that they are excited to meet someone who isn't from Taiwan. They are just so excited to learn more about what life outside of Taiwan is like and to know what other people abroad think of Taiwan.

After two years of being locked inside in a small town in Wyoming, I then moved to one of the largest urban centers in the world.
