It will make you a better friend, a better student, and most importantly, a more understanding human being. There are so many resources and ways to make traveling a possibility in your future. My family does not have a lot of money, so I had to find a lot of ways to help pay for my trip to Argentina. For the most part, I am here thanks to the Gilman Scholarship, which is a generous gift made to students to help them reach their educational goal of studying abroad. You can learn so many life lessons by simply living in a country different from the one in which you grew up! Life is different all over the world, and it is a gift to be able to see how other people live and be immersed in a new culture. I have had to ask a lot of questions and be open to new experiences here, which has taught me that it's okay to not always know the answer! That's how we learn — through experiencing the world around us.
So, if you go to college one day, I encourage you to look and see what is available to you and how you can live in another country for some time. Whether you want to be a teacher, a doctor, or an engineer, living in another country will help you in the future. You can always make studying abroad a reality if you work really hard and set your mind to it. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise!
The images I have attached to this week's article are focused on some of my favorite people and memories during my time here in Argentina. The people I've met are amazing and have made this experience the best it could be. They are passionate about what they do, they are very kind to others and they are always willing to help anyone who needs it. Find people like that in your life because they make the biggest difference.
