Olá! Hello! My name is Leilani Stacy, and I am currently living in Lisbon, Portugal, where I am a Fulbright Scholar researching women-owned businesses and entrepreneurship.
I grew up in nine different states in the United States, and have now lived in three countries. Last year, I graduated from Wellesley College with a degree in economics and political science.
My favorite things to do for fun are read, exercise and cook. After being a track athlete for eight years, I still love to stay active outdoors by hiking or running, and also trying new things like yoga or bouncing on trampolines!
Whenever I travel, the best way for me to learn about a new culture is through food. I love going to local farmers' markets, tasting local dishes and attempting to cook with new ingredients as well! On the weekends, I love to share a meal with friends and family.
I have always loved reading a good book, but also sharing my experiences abroad through writing! Through my Reach the World posts, I hope that you can get a feel for what it is like to live in a foreign country. It can be challenging at times, but it is also fun and exciting! As a kid, I always wanted to travel the world, and I am looking forward to showing you a bit of Portugal so that maybe one day you can, too!
