A Day in the Life of a Kid in Madrid

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

I eat lunch in the school cafeteria with all my friends. My favorite food is pasta, but I also love tortilla de patatas, which is like a big potato omelette! It’s super yummy, and we get to eat it with some salad or fruit.

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

At school, we speak in Spanish, but sometimes we also speak English or even a little French. To say 'Hello' in Spanish, you say '¡Hola!' In English, it’s 'Hello,' and in French, it’s 'Bonjour!'

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

At my school, there are a lot of kids with names like Pablo, Martina, Paula, and Daniel. My two best friends are Mateo and Valentina. It’s funny because these names are really popular in Spain, and I get to meet lots of other kids with the same names!

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

We study a lot of subjects at school, like math, Spanish, science, art, and sometimes music. My favorite subject is art because I love drawing and painting. I get to be creative and make cool pictures! I also like science because we do fun experiments and learn about how things work.

What is your homework like?:

My homework is usually not too much, but we have to do some reading, math problems, and sometimes a little bit of writing. It’s not so hard, but sometimes I have to finish my work at home if I don’t finish it in class. We also get to do fun projects sometimes, like making posters or doing experiments!
