I flew 4,714 kilometers from Manaus to Salvador, Bahia. It took me about six hours of total flight, but I did have a layover that made my travel day a bit longer.
I traveled from São Paulo (in the south), to Manaus (in the north), then to Salvador (in the central east). In total, I have basically traveled from one side of Brazil to the other!
I always rely on Ubers to get around here, but if I am feeling up for it, sometimes I take the Uber Motos (motorcycles). The Ubers here are quite cheap and the safest means of transportation. Although it is safe to walk during the day, it is often quite hot, so an air-conditioned or open-air Uber is typically the way to go if you are traveling far. For shorter distances, I always walk. Tomorrow, I am taking a ferry to an island!
Yesterday, I visited the M.A.M., the Museum of Modern Art in Bahia. They had a ton of very old pottery and you could even access an artist's studio to see current projects. It was one of the coolest and most engaging museums that I have ever visited. This museum also overlooks the ocean which, in my opinion, is pretty special.
