It’s been pretty rainy this week! Unlike the cold, snowy winters in New York, Albania has mild, wet winters with temperatures rarely dipping below 30°F. It's like an endless fall. Yesterday, when the sun came out, I actually sat at a café in short sleeves. It felt wild to be sitting outside in January without a coat!
Dogs and cats are everywhere, all the time! The stray dogs and cats are extremely friendly here. You would think it's easy to identify a stray, but even dogs with owners walk without leashes. The dogs here are so obedient, just strolling alongside their owner, minding their own business! Since being here I have also seen deer, cows, sheep, horses, chickens, goats, turtles, lots of fish and even peacocks! The peacocks near Pogradec are by far the most beautiful animals to see here. Outside of the city in villages, some people still use horses as their mode of transportation.
