It also put me in a situation where I heavily relied on the other people who were going through the same difficulties and struggles that I was, and we supported each other through them. Those same people who encouraged me through the Peace Corps are the same people who encouraged me through the hike. Just like I did in joining the Peace Corps and hiking Pico Duarte, I encourage you all to seek adventure and discomfort, as often the outcomes of the most uncomfortable journeys are the most transformative and beneficial.
