Welcome to my autobiography journal entry, where I will tell you all about myself and what led me to joining the Peace Corps!
Like many of you, I'm from a small town in Pennsylvania outside of Pittsburgh called Natrona Heights. I had many interests growing up, including sports like soccer, softball and basketball. Soccer was the one I fell in love with and have played for my whole life. Along with sports, I also had an interest in music. I started playing the clarinet in fourth grade and continued playing throughout high school, where I was in concert and marching band. My love for music also manifested in musicals, which I participated in from 6th to 12th grade. Along with those hobbies, I held leadership positions, such as class secretary, band historian, prom committee member and foreign language club secretary. Meanwhile, I was taking Spanish class with Señora Proaño, who would often tell us of her time as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Ecuador. From that point, the seed was planted, and I knew the Peace Corps would be in my future!
But first, my priority after graduating high school was attending college.
