Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

This week, my host family and I travelled to 아산시 (Asan-si), a city about an hour outside of 청주 (Cheongju). While there, I ate at a Korean McDonald’s, cheered on 청주 (Cheongju) at a women’s basketball game and tried squid ink pizza for the first time. Would you try pizza with squid ink in the crust?

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

So far, I have visited 괴산 (Goesan), 화천 (Hwacheon), 춘천 (Chuncheon), 처난 (Cheonan), 아산 (Asan), and 청주 (Cheongju), the city where I now live. In a few weeks, I am also visiting 서울 (Seoul), the capital of South Korea, with a few friends to celebrate my birthday. Additionally, in May, my host family and I are going on a trip to 강릉 (Gangneung), a beach city on the east coast of South Korea, where I will see the Pacific Ocean for the first time.

How did I get around this week?:

To get around, I normally take the bus or walk. My school is a  ten minute bus ride and a 45 minute walk from where I live, so I ride the bus to work and walk home afterwards. In Korea, buses are clean, safe and reliable, so I’ve never had any problems getting where I need to go... as long as I wake up on time!
