Our News

We met in Warsaw and spent time hanging out, exploring the city and sharing stories about our schools and students. It felt really good to be with people who understand what this experience is like, and it reminded me that I am not alone on this journey.

What did I read this week?:

This week, I read a lot of Polish literature in English. One of my professors wants to help me immerse in Polish literary culture, so I have been reading Witold Gombrowicz’s Ferdydurke. The book is strange, a little funny, and confusing in a unique way. It made me think a lot about growing up and how people act around each other. Even though it is challenging, it feels special to read Polish books while living in Poland.

What games or sports did I play this week?:

I did not play any games or sports this week, but I walked a lot which feels like my main exercise here.

Other news from this week:

I am starting to feel more comfortable with daily life here—knowing where to shop, when to eat and how to plan my days. The Polish university semester ends the last week of January, so things are just starting to calm down before break.
