We make sure the dogs go to good homes and that they will be well taken care of; we even do follow-up visits to ensure the animals' well-being. As I mentioned above, I also sometimes help out fostering dogs, like Dorado!
On an individual level, there are many dog lovers here who go above and beyond to take dogs off the streets. I have one coworker who has six dogs on his farm, and another who has 13 dogs in her house (and six cats!). So many others take in as many dogs as they can, and try to provide them with the food, shelter and (most importantly) cariño that they need to thrive. The dog issue here is not yet solved, but there are dog-lovers everywhere who won't rest until it is.
