Traveler Bio

Ciao, tutti (Hello, everyone)! My name is Maleika Stewart, I am studying with the IES Abroad Program in Rome, Italy participating in the film and media studies program.

I have come a long way from my home institution Spelman College in Atlanta, Georgia where I'm in my Junior year majoring in English and minoring in photography. I had to travel more than 4,000 miles to get to Rome with too many suitcases, eagerness, excitement, and my skateboard in hand! Since arriving, I have had the time of my life meeting new friends, exploring Italy in my free time, studying Italian, and having some of the best and most challenging courses thus far in my academic career.

Here in Rome, I am studying photography, filmmaking, Italian, and journalism. I have much to share starting from recipes, photos, and then, of course, plenty of movie suggestions! I can't wait to share with you all I've experienced, and hear about your school year, all you've accomplished, and any of your experiences. See you soon!
