I have been in Thailand for about three months, and it is so fun that you have been following along with me since the beginning! We started off in Bangkok where I was introduced to Thai culture, food, religion, language and more! I went to the Grand Palace and Wat Pho and shared pictures with you of the most astounding architecture I have ever seen. I walked through big outdoor markets filled with tents selling foods I had not tried before like pad thai, mango sticky rice and bubble tea. And I was able to explore beyond Bangkok to Ayutthaya and Kanchanaburi, where I saw beautiful new places and also met some monkeys and elephants. Bangkok is where I first started teaching, where I met so many of my amazing friends, and where I fell in love with Thailand.
A month after arriving in Bangkok, you followed as I moved once more to Tha Sala. I moved into my beautiful apartment by the beach and met my amazing students! I greatly enjoyed teaching my third graders and taking pictures of my classroom, students and lessons so that we could compare third grade in Tha Sala with third grade in Vermont. Since being here, I have learned to speak so much more Thai from my students. I have eaten so many more new foods like caterpillars, whole fried fish and squid!
