Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

The furthest I traveled this week was to an outdoor market called Chatuchak. It is a huge area filled with stands that have food, clothes, books, jewelry, and pretty much anything else you could think of. It is about 40 minutes from where I live.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

During the week, I take classes to learn Thai, so I have not been traveling very much. On the evenings and weekends, I try to explore Bangkok and I usually use the sky train to get around. This transportation is called the BTS. It is like a subway, but the roads are built above the normal roads for cars. I have traveled to many outdoor markets and interesting restaruants this way.

How did I get around this week?:

Mostly I walk to different places around where I live. Sometimes I take the sky train to get to markets and restaurants that are a little further away. There is often a lot of traffic in Bangkok, but when it is not too bad I also use Grab (the Thai version of Uber or Lyft) to get around.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

The most interesting place I went this week was Wat Pho. It is a huge temple area that has many beautiful buildings decorated with tiles that looks like flowers. It is also home to the world's largest reclining Buddha.
