Margaret's Mostly Czech Castle Collection

The Czech Republic has a ton of castles and I tried to visit as many as I could this year! Some castles look like real castles, while others would probably be better named chateaus!

In Southern Germany, King Ludwig built the Neuschwanstein Castle in the late 19th century... unfortunately he died before it was completed (King Ludwig -- and his death -- are very interesting!
My parents and I hiked to the best viewpoint of Neuschwanstein... it was a long walk, but totally worth it
To the southeast of the Czech Republic lies Slovakia and its capitol Bratislava; I visited Bratislava and its castle in January
The Devin Castle is just outside Bratislava; the oldest part of the castle was built in 864 and people continued to build on it until the 15th century (it was blown up during the Napoleonic Wars in 1809)
To the northeast of the Czech Republic is Poland; Krakow has a gorgeous castle called Wawel Castle
