Dobrý den (Good day)! My name is Margaret Ferris and I’m 22 years old. I was born and raised in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio, where I spent a lot of time playing in Lake Erie, visiting museums in Cleveland, and hanging out with my family and dogs.
After I graduated from high school, I went to Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. At college, I majored in Political Science and Classical History. This means I spent a lot of time studying governments, laws, and people in today’s United States and in Ancient Rome over 2,000 years ago!
Even though I loved what I studied, I’m not sure what I want to do when I grow up, so I applied for and luckily received a U.S. Fulbright English Teaching Assistantship in the Czech Republic. After graduating from college, I moved to České Budějovice to teach English at a school called Gymnasium J.V. Jirsika, or GJVJ. My youngest students are 12 years old and my oldest students are 18.
I’m so excited to explore the Czech Republic, share my adventures with you, and get to know you all! Ahoj!
