Conversations with Wahib and Siti Mufidah

While Wahib’s home buzzes with entrepreneurial energy, Siti’s offers a more tranquil retreat.

What chores do you have at home?:

Chores are part of daily life, and Wahib takes on simple but essential tasks like sweeping, washing dishes and lending a hand to his parents whenever needed. Siti Mufidah, however, spends more time in the kitchen, assisting her mother with cooking while also helping to care for her younger siblings.

What jobs do your parents have?:

Wahib’s parents are both businesspeople, running their own enterprise. Siti Mufidah’s father works in an office, and her mother is a housewife who manages the household.

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

Both students start their school day bright and early at 7:15 a.m. Wahib’s schedule is pretty straightforward -- he usually finishes at 4:00 p.m., though on some days, he stays until 5:30 p.m. Siti Mufidah’s schedule is a bit more varied. Her school days end anywhere between 3:00 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., depending on the day, but Saturdays bring her a little relief, with classes wrapping up at noon.

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

Wahib’s daily commute is quick and convenient -- his older brother drops him off on a motorbike. Siti Mufidah had an even easier routine when she lived in the school dormitory, where all she had to do was walk to class.

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

For lunch, Wahib usually sits between his friends Fauzan and Khoirul, enjoying his meal in good company.
