Conversations with Wahib and Siti Mufidah

Introduction:

Wahib and Siti Mufidah are both students in my 10th-grade class, each with their own unique experiences and perspectives. Through this interview, they shared insights about their daily lives, family routines, school experiences and personal aspirations. It was fascinating to see the similarities and differences between them, from their favorite meals to their thoughts on the United States. Their answers offer a glimpse into the lives of students in Indonesia, highlighting both the diversity and shared values within their culture.

What do you eat for breakfast, lunch and dinner?:

For breakfast, Wahib typically eats rice with some egg; while for lunch, he enjoys two pieces of fried chicken. His dinner consists of satay, a popular Indonesian dish. On the other hand, Siti Mufidah has a more consistent meal pattern, as she usually eats rice, side dishes and vegetables for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

What is your house like?:

Wahib’s home isn’t just a place to live -- it’s also a business! Since his parents are business owners, he lives in a shophouse, a unique space with a square-like structure that serves as both a home and a storefront. Siti Mufidah, on the other hand, lives in a charming house surrounded by lush green plants, giving it a fresh, peaceful atmosphere.
