This week, I did a lot of traveling. I traveled more than two and a half hours north to Ballina in County Mayo, which is where I saw the concert. On the way back, I did some shopping in Castlebar, Mayo which is an hour back down south of Ballina. Then, on a different day, I traveled three hours to the Cliffs of Moher and later, three hours back to Galway.
So far, the furthest point that I've traveled to on this journey is the Cliffs of Moher, which is just over three hours by bus from where I am in Galway. This is just 47.1 miles or 75.8 kilometers, which is the unit of measure used here to determine distance.
This week, I got around by taking many buses. There are express buses which are very nice and modern. The city buses have WiFi and many of them have USB ports to charge electronic devices. I also took taxis in some places where buses were not available. Walking was also very important to be able to get around and I walked around many areas. The city buses are not as frequent as they seem to be in New York; here, they run every half hour. They don't have Metrocards, but they do have a refillable card called a LeapCard that can be reloaded in some supermarkets.
