Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I had a huge trip getting to Paris from Bogotá, Colombia. In total, I traveled north and across the Atlantic Ocean over 5,354 miles by plane.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

Since I haven’t been here that long, my journey so far is not much more than the airplane travel I have done this week. But once my daily routine starts, I may be traveling up to 5 miles to and from the Museum of Natural History each day (about 30 minutes each way on the Paris Métro).

How did I get around this week?:

I used lots of forms of transportation to get to and then to get around in Paris, including taking an Uber to the airport in Bogotá, taking two planes to get to France, grabbing a taxi, walking a lot and taking the metro. While I am here I won’t have to do that much more traveling out of the city, except for on some weekends. I will mostly walk or use the Métro to get around.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

I have to say, the Paris Museum of Natural History is fantastique (that’s “fantastic” in French!) and is probably my favorite so far. I am lucky that I got to go behind the scenes, since I am working there, and explore the old chemistry building with a new friend. I found out that the famous French scientist Marie Curie used to work in a laboratory right in that building!
