We learned about a lot of cool things such as Murano blown glass art and the famous colorful houses of Burano.
While in another Italian city, Milan, I bought a manga (Japanese comic/graphic novel) in Italian. I spent most of my free time reading it and learning new Italian words while I was in Venice.
My class and I played this game where we had to create new covers for books that already existed, This helped us understand the messages of the books more.
I went out of my comfort zone by visiting a refugee center and talking to the people that ran it for my research. I learned a lot of new Italian words and more about why there are so many refugees and immigrants in Italy. I also got to see the part of Venice that did have cars and streets which is very different from the island part.
