Welcome to Rennes!

Professor Cooperman had lived in Toulouse, France for a few years. When he mentioned he had a colleague, Professor Quinson, in France looking for interns, I pounced on the opportunity. The work was very challenging, forcing me to decode dense, technical articles for hours on end, but it was also very rewarding.

At the end of my stay in Rennes, I learned of a special opportunity at the École normale supérieure de Rennes or ENS Rennes, which translates to the "Superior Normal School of Rennes" (a mouthful!), where Professor Quinson taught. ENS Rennes participates in the Fulbright Program, the United States government's flagship international exchange program. After months of consideration and working on my application, when I finally graduated in May 2024, I was set to continue my masters in Rennes for the next two years. Who would’ve known I’d ever visit Rennes, let alone come back for a second time?

At ENS Rennes, I’ll take courses in machine learning, networking, cybersecurity and formal verification. Since I've enrolled, my French comprehension has reached new heights: all my classes are taught in French, and all the other students are French. It’s been challenging to adjust to the new environment and difficult courses at ENS Rennes, but I’m happy that I chose to study here. I’m excited to share my experience with everyone!
