Traveler Bio

안녕하세요 (an-nyeong-ha-se-yo)! 난 McKenzie입니다 (nan McKenzie-ib-ni-da)!

In Korean, that means, "Hello! I am McKenzie!"

I am a 23-year-old female raised in Georgia, United States, and I was born in China. My hometown is a small rural city in the Appalachian Mountains. I grew up surrounded by beautiful mountains, green pastures, and a small, close-knit community. My favorite childhood family vacations were down to Disney World in sunny Orlando, Florida!

After graduating high school, I took a gap year to be a cultural ambassador in South Korea under a national scholarship. After I returned back to the U.S., I moved to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania for college at the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn). During college, I had many fantastic opportunities, such as returning to South Korea over the summer for language study and hiking in the Alps in Switzerland and Italy for academic credit! I will graduate with a degree in International Studies in Korea with a minor in Geology and a degree in Marketing.

To finish the last requirements of my International Studies degree, I will be studying abroad at Seoul National University this year, located in Seoul - the capital of South Korea! I am excited to take you all along on my journey across, not just Seoul, but all of South Korea!
