Hej Hej! Hello! My name is Megan Wang and I am 22 years old. I grew up in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. As a kid, I always followed my mom to her research lab. The mice in the lab were my furry little friends and the microscopes teleported me into a new world. Over time, I wanted to learn more about the building blocks of life. During the Covid-19 pandemic, I moved to New York to study the disease that was causing many people to get sick. This important project has connected me with many talented researchers from across the world! Eventually, I was awarded a Fulbright fellowship in Stockholm, Sweden to continue studying the disease and help develop treatments for it.
During my time in Sweden, I plan on exploring the Viking museum to learn more about the rich culture of the country. Also, I am excited to experience “lördagsgodis,” which is a weekly Swedish tradition of buying and eating unique candies on Saturdays. Between learning more about the culture of Sweden and working on my research, you can find me at the gym playing volleyball. I played on my college team and look forward to meeting new friends through the sport. I hope you will join me on my journey throughout Sweden! There are so many adventures I have planned, and I would love to take you along. For now, vi ses! See you soon!
