Hello exchange partners! My name is Mercedes Starr, but here in Perú, I go by Meche. I look forward to our conversations about Peruvian culture, practices, and language over the next few months.
Currently, I am living in Amazonas, Peru, and working on the youth development project. I help the local municipality, high school, health post, and police, design programs to help local teens become successful adults. I teach life skills classes, vocational orientation, exercise classes, and lead workshops on how to lead a healthy lifestyle. I am also working on improving my Spanish and teach English classes on the side. I look forward to beginning this virtual journey together!
