Traveler Bio

Nihao! Hello! I'm Michaela. You can also call me by my Chinese name, 辛洪文 Xin Hongwen. I was born near Xinyi, Guangdong Province, China, and was raised in Maine by my adoptive family. I am a senior at Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, where I study Bioethics and Psychology. I'm so excited to learn about you and where you live as we get to know one another!

During the summer of 2021, I received a Gilman International Scholarship to study Mandarin through the Peking University Virtual Summer Language Program. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the photos you will see are from my visit to China in 2018. I was lucky enough to visit the cities of Beijing, Xi'an, Yichang, Guilin, Yangshuo and Guangzhuo. There is so much to explore throughout China, and I hope to inspire you to chase your dreams of experiencing the world. Let's go on a journey together!
