Bula! Greetings! My name is Michael Simon, but you can call me Mike. I am 27 years old and hail from Englishtown, New Jersey. Growing up in New Jersey, I loved heading to the beach, visiting New York City, and going to parks with friends. In high school, I was in the Law Enforcement and Public Safety Magnet Program at Manalapan High School. In college, I left New Jersey and headed to New York to study Criminology at Hofstra University.
After I graduated from college, I applied to volunteer for Peace Corps. It was a very long process that took over a year. During the application process, I was able to work on a cruise ship and visit 10 countries. Once I received acceptance into the program, I served in Fiji from 2019-2020 as a Youth Development Volunteer and worked as an educator at Sawau District School. I was assigned to volunteer at Dakuibeqa, a village on Beqa Island near the main island of Viti Levu. Currently, I am still living in New Jersey, where I'm working at Zeel, providing at-home healthcare. I am excited to share my adventures with you all and cannot wait to hear about your journeys throughout the school year!
