This artform also often political and comments on politics in a crazy way, like a unicorn talking to a donkey about who the current president is. The main difference between theatre in the US and in Europe is in how it is produced. In that States, theatre (and art, in general) is funded by private parties, or by the people who want to make it, but in Europe, it is funded by the government, and so you apply for a grant (money that you don't have to pay back) and if you get approved then the government helps you produce whatever art you want. We are learning about how that process works right now, and how art has to follow certain guidelines or rules in order for the government to pay for it. In the United States of America, theatre doesn't have to go through a process of judgment on whether it meets certain rules to get money because anyone who thinks it's interesting or fun can donate money to the theatre company and then the show can be produced. If you guys have any cool ideas that you’d want to make a show about, tell Mrs.Fischer and Mrs.Terc, or write your ideas down, and I can tell you if you could get funding from the E.U. (European Union) government! I’ll talk to you guys next week!
