Morgan's First Fufu

Given how popular yams are, it is little wonder they appear in dishes like fufu.

Plantains are also an important ingredient in West Africa. Plantains are similar to bananas, but they are longer and are almost always cooked. Plantains are used in dishes like red red, which is eaten with red beans and meat. You can also taste plantains in my favorite breakfast dish, massa. (Remember, massa is a doughnut made of fried maize and plantains!)

I so was glad that I tried a new food this weekend, travelers! Sometimes, tasting something you are not used to can make you feel hesitant, or nervous. But with every dish, I have grown to love Ghanaian food more and learn more about how it's prepared. What do you think, travelers? Would you like to try fufu, yams, or plantains? As always, let me know what you think!
