I think flamenco is similar to tap dancing in that it includes a lot of percussive footwork, but it feels more passionate and is more colorful.
As for other forms of music, I encountered musical performances in different cities I traveled to over the past several weeks. In Vienna, I went to the Musikverein, or Vienna Music Society concert venue, to watch the orchestra perform some works by Mozart. The musicians were all dressed like Mozart, which was quite entertaining. I will admit that the concert felt more touristy, but the musicians were still excellent. I also went briefly inside St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, a Roman Catholic church where they were holding a Catholic mass. I got to hear organ music playing for the mass during my visit. In Cambridge in the U.K., I saw a harpsichord which is something like an older version of the piano at the The Fitzwilliam Museum. I suggest checking out some harpsichord videos on YouTube because it is a cool instrument. Lastly, in Edinburgh in Scotland, I passed by a man playing the bagpipes!
Music has been appearing in my abroad life in both expected and unexpected places. I hope music sparks joy and creates memories for all of you, too!
