I got to see the day-to-day lives of veterinarians in the clinic and learn more about their work. This experience solidified my passion for becoming a veterinarian and motivated me to attend college for animal science.
I attend Colorado State University where I am studying animal science on the pre-veterinary track. Here, I get to combine my previous experience in the shelter and vet clinic with the knowledge I learn in my coursework. This has included anatomy, physiology, chemistry, biology and much more! I have also been able to meet many people that share a passion for animals with similar goals. This has allowed us to motivate one another to follow our dreams together.
Now, I am studying abroad in Ireland where I continue to study animal science and have been able to gain an international perspective on animals. This has been a huge part of my journey and has shaped me extremely; not only as a student, but also as a person. Next year, I will enter my last year of college and apply to veterinary school to continue to follow my dreams!
