Rice is a staple food in a lot of coastal cultures around the world, so it's pretty appropriate here in Singapore with the mix of a lot of South and Southeast Asian cultures. Most of these cultures eat many dishes with rice, but they might not all contain meat or the same type of meat or sauces, spices and seasonings.
