Traveler Bio

안녕하세요 (an-nyeong-ha-se-yo)! Hello!

My name is Mya, and I am a 19-year-old college student from Reading, Pennsylvania. I attend the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, which is about a 4-hour car ride from my hometown. I am currently in my second year of study.

Right after graduating high school in 2022, I had the fortunate opportunity to participate in an educational trip to Italy, Austria and Germany with some of my recently graduated classmates. This experience opened my eyes to the accessibility of traveling abroad and learning about different cultures. So, when I entered college, I knew that studying abroad would be first on my to-do list!

I am pursuing a degree in Linguistics, a minor in Korean, and a certificate in Asian Studies. I chose to study the Korean language as a part of my degree because of its special structure and history. So, when deciding which country I wanted to study in, I had to go with South Korea! Korea has such a fascinating and rich culture, as well as a vibrant city life, powerful pop-culture and entertainment scene. I am so excited to take you along with me on my journey through South Korea!
