This week, I took a 1-hour and 15-minute flight from Budapest to Warsaw and back. I also took the train to Budapest, which is about 1 hour and 45 minutes. I also biked around Eger to go to the main square and visit the Eger Castle.
I have traveled 12 hours by plane (including a layover in Germany) from New Jersey to Budapest, and have visited different cities in Hungary with some other Fulbrighters. Together, we've gone to the Hungarian cities Debrecen and Tokaj, which are about 1 hour and 30 minutes from Eger by car, and Visegrád, which is about 2 hours from Eger by car. I also travel by train to Budapest from Eger about once every two weeks for different Fulbright events.
In Eger, I ride my bike almost everywhere. It's faster than taking the local bus system since there are convenient bike paths all around the city. In Warsaw, I mostly walked around to explore the city, but I also used the bus and tram systems.
