My preschool English students are experts on the weather because I start every class by asking them what the weather is like today. According to my students, the weather this week was sunny almost every day. It is also getting hotter and feeling more like summer.
Something special about the weather in the Canary islands is the occasional calima (dust) in the sky. It looks like fog, but it is actually dust that blows across the sea from the desert in Africa. I saw calima for the first time on Sunday. I was hiking with my friends, and I felt tired becasue of the bad air quality.
I saw grajas. Grajas are a special type of bird that exist only on La Palma! They have bright orange beaks, fly in groups, and like to eat seeds.
