The weather has been hot and humid in Can Tho this week and pretty much every week since I arrived in Vietnam six weeks ago. At first, the humidity was difficult to handle, but I've adjusted to the temperature and now feel quite comfortable. However, I sweat a lot when I play tennis and soccer with my friends! It has rained in the afternoon three times this week, including a downpour a few days ago. My roommate, Andrew, and I got caught in the rainstorm on our motorbikes and got soaking wet. It was a fun experience though!
I've seen lizards, mosquitoes, beetles, cockroaches and other critters in my house this week. At first, it was strange having so many "roommates." But I've come to embrace sharing my home with the native wildlife. I have seen a variety of fish and seafood at local markets this week. They keep the living fish in big buckets to sell to customers, since most people prefer fresh fish.
