The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was a view of the valley in which my town is located. I hiked to an overlook where I was able to see a beautiful view of the area, the mountains, a river and nearby towns. It was an amazing view that reminded me of how lucky I am to live in the mountains!
People in town say that weather patterns have been more difficult to predict in recent years. While in the past, there were clearly defined times when it would be raining or not, now it is hard to predict and does not follow those patterns. This has affected farming cycles and has increased the likelihood of some natural disasters. For example, my town had a series of landslides last October resulting from increased rain that destabilized the land.
