This week felt like a true shift into winter. Some days were clear and bright, while others were gray, snowy or damp. The changing weather shaped daily routines, from dressing in layers to moving a little more slowly through the city. Winter here feels steady and expected rather than disruptive.
I saw birds throughout the city, especially pigeons and crows near parks and train stations, along with many dogs out on walks with their owners. Even in cold weather, people here spend time outside with their pets, which gives the city a lived-in, everyday feeling.
The most striking sight was seeing fresh snow settle across the city early in the morning. Rooftops, trees and sidewalks were all softened by snow, and the city felt quieter before the day fully began.
