This week the weather was very hot! It gets to be about 90 degrees Fahrenheit everyday. Ahmedabad has a desert climate, though, so it is a very dry heat It doesn't feel sticky and gross. Even though it is very hot during the day, it gets to be about 56 degrees Fahrenheit at night. At night, it is also very smoky in the air; it smells like there is a huge fire right around the corner!
In India, there are cows that roam the busy city streets. They weave in and around the automobile traffic. Cows are a sacred animal in India and of the Hindu religion. A man I met told me that if a car were to hit a cow by accident in the streets, the person driving the car would receive a huge fine. Besides cows, there are a lot of stray dogs, monkeys hopping across building tops, and pigeons perching on high ledges.
