We had a big storm this week! It poured rain for three days straight and there were 45 knot winds. 45 knots is about 50 mile per hour. Some trees got knocked down, and a few neighborhoods lost power. Schools were closed for two days. Then the sun came out, and it was a beautiful weekend!
I saw barnacles, limpets (sea snails) and a pack of friendly dogs at the beach. Limpets are a type of snail that live on rocks by the ocean in an area called the rocky intertidal.
The pack of friendly dogs followed me around the beach while I collected my data.
I have been researching the animals that live in the rocky intertidal here, and this week I collected some data. It looks limpets might eat algae that grows on barnacles.
